How to cook a Steak

The thickness and cooking method of any kind of meat will affect the way it is cooked. Thicker steaks, for example, are better cooked at low heat while thicker steaks require higher temperatures.

Also, don't cook them too long as it will cause loss of flavor. Don't forget to take the steak out of the pan once it's finished. This will ensure that you don't burn your self.

Cooking time will depend on the size of your steak and the desired level of doneness. These are some guidelines:

Medium Rare: Cook till medium rare. This is when the internal temperature of the food reaches 145°F (63°C). This should take between 3 and 5 min per side.

Medium: Cook until medium. This means that the internal temp has reached 160 degrees F (71 degrees Celsius). This takes approximately 6 minutes per side.

When done well, cook until the internal temperatures reach 180°F (82°C). This usually requires 8 to 12 minutes per side.
